Join Gravity IT Resources and us on Tuesday, September 24th, at 6:00 PM in the Redwood Conference Room of the Microsoft Charlotte Office. Test Doubles, also sometimes called Mocks, help us build unit tests for classes that have dependencies. This will be a presentation on what sort of decisions drive how we create our test doubles. Not all test doubles are created equal, and not all of them function the same way. The code we wish to test has needs that vary from situation to situation. That means we need to alter how we create our test doubles to accommodate those different situations.
By the end of the presentation, we’ll have a shortlist of the types of needs that exist, and some examples of how to address each.
Note: All of the examples will be in C#.NET (Core). However, the concepts discussed are not language-specific.
The meeting presenter is Derick Linkous.
Derick has been writing software for two decades, primarily using the Microsoft stack (C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server), and more recently, Amazon Web Services. A self-described Clean Code evangelist, Derick enjoys focusing on how to write code that is easy to read, and easy to maintain.
